DECLO - Lois Faye Anderson, a 77-year-old Declo resident, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, at Parke View Care & Rehabilitation Center.
Lois was born Jan. 26, 1928, in Declo, the daughter of Samuel and Ethel Garrett. Lois worked as a secretary in Alaska for four years, and in various other places before becoming a homemaker for the rest of her life.
She married Ned "Hap" Anderson on Feb. 1, 1973 in Elko, Nev. They resided in Declo where they were engaged in farming. Hap preceded her in death in 1988. Lois continued to live in Declo where she has been for some 30 years. She had one son, Dewayne Plumlee, who died in a car accident at the age of 27. Lois enjoyed puzzles, knitting, and crocheting. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Lois is survived by two step sons, Terrill (Maurine) Anderson and David (Gail) Anderson; eight grandchildren, Sarah Newland, Darcy Womack, Candace Anderson, David Smith, Christine Rodgers, Crystal Anderson, Devry and Stacy Anderson; 19 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Rex Garrett, Samuel Garrett, Edward Garrett, and Kenneth Garrett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ned "Hap" Anderson; her parents; one son, Dewayne Plumlee and two brothers, Jay Garrett and Ivan Eliason.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at Hansen Mortuary Burley Chapel, 321 East Main St., with Bishop Steve Darrington, officiating. Burial will follow at the Declo City Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening and one hour prior to the service on Monday. The family would like to thank the staff at Parke View Care & Rehab Center and Minidoka Home Health for the loving care they gave Lois.
