Mr. L.B. Sullivan, was a former Alabama Prison Commissioner, Alabama Public Safety Director and Montgomery Police and Fire Commissioner. Mr. Sullivan was one of the parties to what is generally regarded as the most important First Amendment/freedom of the press case ever heard by the U.S. Supreme Court: "New York Times Co. v. Sullivan".
