Martha Ann Ester Lindsey first married Thomas Blythe. They had two children, William Daniel "Will" Blythe and Margaret E. Blythe. Thomas Blythe is believed to have been poisoned with bad whiskey to keep him from testifying against a brother-in-law accused of stealing. This happen somewhere in Arkansas. Martha was expecting the birth of daughter Margaret at the time so this would have been in 1890. Family brought her back to Mississippi and Martha married William Engle in 1895 in Franklin County Alabama. The family moved to the Lacy area of Prentiss County and owned land between New Hope and Carter's Chapel. Martha was a redhead and that has been passed on with one or two redheads being born in each generation since.
