Ira Ray Adami, 76, passed away February 26, 2011 at his home in Freer. He was born November 7, 1934 in Wharton, Texas to Gordon and Eunice Adami. He was a retired rancher and worked in the oilfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Hubert Adami; his daughter, Myra Adami; his son, Curtis Adami and one grandson, Christopher Gordon Adami.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Adami of Freer; one daughter, Sandy Adami of Freer; two sons: Gordon Adami and Boyd (Kathy) Adami all of Freer; two step-sons: James (Angie) Woodward of Terra Haute, Indiana and Stephen Woodward of Indianapolis, Indiana; one sister, Shirley (Ray) Setzer of Dallas; one brother, Eddie ( Betty) Vacek of El Campo; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, February 28, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Holmgreen Mortuary in Alice.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., at the First Baptist Church in Freer.

Burial will follow in Alice Cemetery in Alice.
