Eldest of 5 of Edward John and Rosa Anna Zahn Steinberg, E. A. primarily farmed the Steinberg land in Section 30 of Sullivant Twp. of Ford Co. IL from about 1930 to 1970's.

He married Verla Hazel Schade in Cropsey on 1 Jan 1932. They had four children. Edward had a lovely tenor voice and also played the cornet.

The couple retired to AR in the early 1970's where he enjoyed his music and his many friends.

DEATHS - SIBLEY -- Edward Adam Steinberg, 92 of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., formerly of Sibley, died Monday (Jan 9, 1995) at Fulton County Nursing Center, Salem, Ark. His funeral will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, the Rev. Raymond Hudson officiating.

Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mount Hope Cemetery, Sibley, with grave side Masonic services. Visitation will be from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

He was born Jan. 6, 1903, near Sibley, a son of Edward John and Rose Zahn Steinberg. He married Verla Hazel Schade Jan. 1, 1932, at Cropsey.

Mr. Steinberg farmed near Sibley until his retirement at age 70. He and his wife moved to Horseshoe Bend, Ark., where he lived for 22 years.

He was a member of Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church and the church choir; Masonic Lodge No. 761, Sibley; Bloomington Consistory and Chorus, Bloomington; Mohammed Temple, Peoria; New Franklin Lodge No. 350, Franklin, Ark.; Knights Templar of St. Paul No. 34, Fairbury; Horseshoe Bend Club for Shriners; the Drummer Chapter No. 822 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Gibson City; Royal and Select Master of the State of Illinois Council No. 75; Illinois Club; Kiwanis; and three bowling leagues in Horseshoe Bend. Memorials may be made to Cropsey Methodist Church, Cropsey, or the American Heart Association.
