Mary Elizabeth Greer Minton, 83, of Boone, died Thursday afternoon, August 23 at Emerald Health Care in Jefferson.

She was born March 15, 1907 in the North Fork community to the late Andrew "Andy" and Nannie Greene Greer. She was a member of the Greenway Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Survivors include one daughter, two sons, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, four sisters, three brothers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Grady Minton, two sons, Richard Minton and Ralph Minton, two daughters, Mrs. Dora Lee Minton and Ms. Nannie A. Minton, two brothers, Fred Greer and Henry Greer and a sister, Mrs. Gertie Earp.

Services were conducted Sunday afternoon at Greenway Baptist Church, officiated by the Reverend Jerry Allen. Burial followed at the Adams Cemetery in Vilas.

Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Directors were in charge of the arrangements.
