A.S. Blake was one of Mont's. earliest pioneers. He was a gold miner, a farmer, and later part owner in a silver mine. He was on the ill-fated Yellowstone Exp. of 1863, and was a juror in the first trial ever held in MT. Stearns was elected a Mem. of the House of Rep. at its first session, 1889-90 and a delegate of the St. Legis. Assembly in its second session, 1891-92. He donated the land for the Victor Cemetary.
