William (Bill) Stevens, 85, of Batavia died suddenly on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva. He was born March 19, 1917 in South Haven, MI, the son of the late William and Florence (Lampman) Stevens. Mr. Stevens was the owner/operator of Bill Stevens Lock and Key in Batavia, a former Montgomery Police Officer, F.B.I. Agent and Agent for the U.S. Treasury Department. He was a member of Batavia American Legion Post 504. Survivors include three daughters, Judith (Byron) Bowles, Patricia Keierleber and Barbara Mahara; one sister, Lillian Delamater; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Minnie Stevens and three sisters. There will be no services or wake per Mr. Stevens' request. Burial will be in Springlake Cemetery in Aurora. Memorial contributions may be given in his name to Batavia American Legion Post #504 or American Heart Association, 208 S. LaSalle, Suite 900, Chicago, IL 60604.
