MRS HAWVER DEAD
Mrs. John A. Hawver, 84 years of age, died at her home 9 miles south and 3 west of Stafford early this, Thursday, morning, August 1.
She had been a resident of this community for about 25 years, and had been in poor health for the past 8 years.
Two sons, Fred S. Hardy and R. S. Hardy, both of Beaumont, Texas, survive her.
Plans for funeral services were not complete at the time of this report.

Mrs. Mattie Hawver

Mattie E. Martin, daughter of Nathan and Parthina Martin, was born April 1 1851, in Fayette county, West Virginia, and departed this life August 1, 1935. at the age of 84 years and 4 months.
Whe was married to John A. Hardy December 25, 1873. To this union were born four children, two of whom preceeded her in death. Mr. Hardy passed away October 15, 1898.
She came of Stafford February 18, 1908, and was married to John A. Hawver the same year. She was a member of the M. E. church.
She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, J. A. Hawver; two sons, R. S. and F. G. Hardy both of Beaumont, Texas; also 11 stepchildren and a hose of other relatived and friends.
Funeral services were held from the Peacock & Soice chapel Friday August 2, at 2:30 p.m., with A. B. Akers in charge. Burial was in the Stafford, cemetery.

We would like all out friends to know that we are deeply grateful to them for all their sympathy and kindness given us during the illness and death of our wife and mother. We also wich to express our thanks for the lovely flowers.

Gravesite Details

Daughter of Nathan and Parthina Martin. Mattie was Lula Dempsey Hawver's aunt, she came to Kansas after Lula died to care for her children
