Stephen Rozow, Sr. (Jan. 28, 1909 - March 11, 1997)

Stephen Rozow, 88, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, of South Bend, Ind., passed away of Alzheimer's disease on Tuesday, March 11, at Chelsea Manor Nursing Home in Elkhart, Ind.

He was born Jan. 28, 1909, to the late Nicholas and Yagoda Rozow in Dalmahese, Germany. Stephen lived in South Bend since 1920. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael, Daniel and Peter. His brother George survives.

On Sept. 11, 1943, he married Alice Mae Lehman, who survives. Together they had three children who survive: Maria (Fred) Morelli of Sugar Grove, Ill., Diane Darnell of South Bend, and Stephen, Jr., (Marge) of North Webster, Ind. Their family grew to include eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Stephen worked for Sibley Machine and Foundry Corporation for 42 years, and retired in 1975. He was a member of St. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3718 S. Michigan Street, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. today.

Services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday at St. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church, 59250 Keria Trail, South Bend. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, South Bend.

Contributions may be made to the building fund of the church.
