Mary Lewella Johnson, 81, a resident of Canyon county for the past 34 years, died Sunday morning in a Nampa hospital following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p. m. M. W. T. Wednesday at the L. D. S. church ward in Nampa with Bishop Eldon Yargason officiating.
Mrs. Johnson, wife of Lafe Johnson, came to Idaho 36 years ago from La Grande, Ore., and spent two years at Payette before coming to Canyon county. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George C. Matson, were early Utah pioneers, going to that state in 1847. Mrs. Johnson was born Jan. 5, 1862 in Springville, Utah.
She was a member of the L. D. S. church at Nampa.
Besides her husband she leaves a daughter, Mrs. H. B. Williams of Adrian, Ore., five sons, G. L. Johnson, L. S. Johnson, Earl and Edward Johnson, all of Caldwell, route 4, and C. L. Johnson of Stibnite, a brother, Ray Matson of Salt Lake City, two sisters, Mrs. Eva Perry of Rupert and Mrs. Erma Tipton of Caldwell route 4, 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Her grandsons will act as pallbearers at the services. Friends may call at the William Talley Funeral home until 2 p. m. Wednesday.
