NAMPA—Funeral services for Mrs. Avis C. Hinkle, 71, 920 15th Ave. S., Nampa, who died in a Nampa hospital Friday following an extended illness, will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa, with Rev. Russell E. Jarboe, pastor of the Nampa Church of the Brethren, officiating, assisted by Rev. M.S. Frantz of the Church of the Brethren. Interment will follow in Kohlerlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Hinkle was born June 23, 1904, at North English, Iowa. She attended schools in North English and around What Cheer, Iowa. She was married to Leonard Hinkle Dec. 11, 1923. They resided in Iowa prior to moving to Idaho and Nampa in 1947. She was a member of the Nampa Church of the Brethren, Nampa Chapter Royal Neighbors of America; and the Owyhee Gem and Mineral Society.
She is survived by her husband of Nampa; one son, William P. Hinkle, Nampa; four grandchildren, George Hinkle, U.S. Army in Germany, Mitchell (Mike) Hinkle, Nampa, William (Bill) Hinkle, Iowa City, Iowa, and Mrs. Bruce (Sally) Walker, North Liberty, Iowa; two great-grandsons, Nampa; her stepmother Mrs.. Hannah Campbell, Nampa; two half-brothers, Robert Campbell, Hanford, Calif., and Lewis Campbell, Nampa; and one half-sister, Mrs.. Leonard (Velma) Hubble, Parnell, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister and one half-sister.
