Joseph William Wood
HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Joseph William Wood, 70, of Somerville will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Harlon Hood officiating.
Burial with military service will be in Shiloh Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. The body will be in the church one hour before the funeral.
Mr. Wood died Sunday, June 30, 2002, at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville. He was born Feb. 27, 1932, in Mississippi to William Wood and Gertha Kellum Wood. He was a Korean War veteran and retired from the Army Corps of Engineers and from the U.S. Air Force as a master sergeant. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Wray Wood; one son, William Scott Wood of Madison; two daughters, Kay Suzanne Griffin of Nashville and Stacey Regina Bauman of Franklin, Tenn.; two sisters, Geraldine Ruth Seamans and Nezzie Joyce Bryant, both of Dresden, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
The Air Force will provide pallbearers.
