"Aged Woman Dies Suddenly"
Mrs. Louise Barkheimer, 84 years old, one of the oldest residents of the county, died suddenly last night at about 10 o'clock following only a few minutes illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Margaret Harvey, in Clifford.
Mrs. Barkheimer had been in poor health for some time, suffering with rheumatism but yesterday she seemed to be in unusually good spirits. At the evening meal she ate heartily and retired at an early hour in keeping with her usual custom. Shortly before 10 o'clock her daughter was attracted to her room by a noise and going to the bed she found her mother suffering from a hemorrage. Mrs. Barkheimer lived but seven minutes after being stricken.
Mrs. Barhkheimer was born in Virginia, but came to Indiana when quite young. She lived for a number of years in Brown county, but the greater part of her life was spent in this county. She was a widely known and highly esteemed woman and was liked by all her friends and neighbours. Her husband passed away a number of years ago. Seven children, Mrs. Harvey, Mrs. Jane McKay, of Clifford, Mrs. Mary Strock, west of the city, Mrs. E. H. Kinney, of this city, John Barkheimer, of Cleveland, Ohio, and James Barkheimer, of east of Clifford and Mrs. Ollie Lane, near Columbus, survive.
