Article from the "Tribune" of Chicago, Illinois dated 28 May 1897:
Dr. Cyrenius A. David is one of the best known medical practitioners in the city of Chicago. For nearly thirty years he has followed his profession and the reward of his efforts has been most marked. Dr. David was born in 1845, and was educated in Fowler institute, Kendall county. He entered Rush medical college of Chicago and graduated in the class of 1869. He entered upon the practice of his profession in La Salle county, Illinois. and soon became one of the leading physicians in that section. Early in his medical career Dr. David devoted himself to a field of special research, turning his attention to the treatment of diseases of the rectum. such as piles, fistula, irritable ulcers, strictures, etc. He has practically abolished the old methods of torture and substituted for them a humane and rational treatment. In 1875 he came to Chicago and opened an office for the practice of his specialty. He later took a course in the University of New York and graduated in 1882. Before removing to Chicago Dr. David became a member of the Illinois Medical association, and was a delegate to the American Medical association in 1875. He is an authority in his specialty and points with pride to the fact that during the last twenty-three years he has never lost a case out of nearly 100,000 cases which he has treated. Dr. David is now associated with Dr, Ives under the firm name of Drs. David & Ives.
