Born c.1757 to Jesse and Mary Peck, Moses Peck fought for American independence during the Revolutionary War, and died "in the 26th year of his age" in the final year of the conflict. His brown sandstone stele features a soul effigy of the portrait type in its tympanum, and appears to be the work of William Grant, a carver from Boston who relocated New York and then to New Jersey, where he was active form the mid-1700's to the 1790's.
Moses Peck is also listed on the D.A.R. Monument near the fron entrance to the church. This memorial, which consists of a bronze plaque affixed to a boulder, was created in 1931 to honor the Revolutionary War veterans buried in the churchyard.
