MAY MUSHKIN

May Mushkin, age 83, mother, grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, great-great-aunt and fabulous friend, passed away Feb. 21, after a brief illness. She was born Feb. 11, 1928, in Philadelphia, and was a 60-year resident of Nevada.

May, whose kindness, love, generosity and passion for life knew no bounds. Her greatest joy came from her family and her time spent with friends. May was a brilliant woman whose intellect was only surpassed by her beauty and love of life. Whether playing Mah Jong, gin rummy, golf or providing assistance to countless charitable events, each activity was managed with enthusiasm and perfection.

May came to Las Vegas as a newlywed with her husband, Larry Mushkin in 1951 and has been involved the following organizations: Temple Beth Shalom, Sisterhood, UNLV Alumni Association, UNLV Women's Sports Foundations, Desert Inn Country Club Ladies Golf Association, Hadassah, Las Vegas Country Club Ladies Golf Association and B'nai Brith. May was blessed with a huge circle of friends and was never one to miss a party or event. She lit up every room she entered and touched the life of every person who had the privilege of knowing her. Her presence in the Las Vegas community will be sorely missed.

May was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Larry Mushkin; her parents, Samuel and Minnie Barsky; her twin sisters, Esther and Mary; and brother, Herb.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Darlene) Mushkin, Sharon Mushkin (Robert Hahn), Rhonda Mushkin and Mark (Rebecca) Mushkin; and her grandchildren, Elizabeth and Lucas Fireman, Lauren, Paul and Joseph Mushkin, Max Mushkin and Evan Blair.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Donations can be made to the May B. Mushkin Memorial Fund at Temple Beth Shalom, 10700 Havenwood Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89135, (702) 804-1333.
