Jannes Snyder Graff, 97, of Mount Hope, died Saturday, July 13, 2002, in Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital, following a short illness.
She was born in Mount Hope, Aug. 20, 1904. She was a homemaker and member of Mount Hope Baptist Temple and the Number 1 Circle of the Church. She was also a member of the Borderland Chapter of the D.A.R., the Federated League of Mount Hope, Mount Hope High School Alumni Association, and a graduate of the National Park College of Washington, D.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank T. Graff Sr.; daughter, Joan T. Gwinn; parents, Philip M. Snyder Sr. and Lana Catherine Walker Snyder; brothers, Ronald “Boxie” Snyder and Philip M. Snyder; and one sister, Thelma Graney.
Survivors include her son, Frank “Tom” Graff and his wife, Becky of Charleston; daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Samples and her husband, Bill of Pittsburgh, Pa.; son-in-law, J.C. Gwinn of Mount Hope; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside rites will be 1 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2002, in High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill with the Rev. David McCoy officiating. Burial will be in Highlawn Memorial Park.
