The Belle Banner - January 15, 1926
On Thursday, January 7, 1926, that unwelcome messenger spread the gloom of his shadow and took from her earthly home the spirit of Mrs. Minnie Wallace. Minnie Travis was born at Steen Prairie, Mo., May 25, 1870, was married to Charles W. Wallace October 25, 1888 of Lanes Prairie. This union was blessed with five children, Mrs. Ethel L. Dehn, Vichy, Mo., Mrs. Edith Davis, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Alva Wallace, Lanes Prairie, Mo., Austin Wallace, Chickasha, Okla., and Arminta Wallace of the home address.

She heard and responded to the call of her Lord and upon the confession of her faith in Him was buried with Him in baptism and thus became a member of the Church of Christ, at the Old Frame Church in which faith and fellowship she continued steadfastly until death. She suffered with cancer for several months during which time she bore her affliction patiently and with Christian endurance. Everything that medical aid and loving hands could do was done for her but to no avail. Besides her sorrowing husband and five children, she leaves to mourn her departure five grandchildren, two sisters and three brothers and a host of other relatives and friends. Let us be thankful for the Christians hope and for the sweet promises of God's word. Oh, that we may all meet her in that brighter and happier world where sorrow and sin and suffering, alike, are unknown.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. H. Scott at the Liberty Church on the Lord's Day in the presence of a large crowd of sorrowing friends after which she was laid to rest in the Liberty Cemetery. (From Contributor, Ellen)
