Katie Rockenfield was the youngest of four children born to Elias C. and Catherine A. Hussong Rockenfield. She married Cyrus Butts on March 27, 1884 in Columbus, Adams County, IL. They had five sons, Percy (who died as a child), Clarence (who died in 1925), Oris, Loren, and Chelsea Earl.
