ODESSA--Faustina O. Acosta, 89, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, in San Pedro, Calif.

She was born Feb. 15, 1922, in Grandfalls, TX to Tomas and Salome Ornelas.

She had worked many years for the Pecos Independent School District as a Cafeteria Supervisor.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Toribio Acosta; and two granddaughters, Diana Chavez and Nancy Pineda.

She is survived by: her sons, Ismael Acosta of Harbor City, CA; Mac Arthur Pineda and wife Dora of Pecos; daughters, Elodia Chavez and husband Jesse of Torrence, CA; Eloisa Vasquez and husband Alfredo Flores of Odessa; sister, Maria Chavez of Pecos; 12 grandchildren; Ronnie, Michael and Paul Acosta, Jesse Chavez, Jr., Edwardo Chavez, Michelle Green, Francisco Reyes, Hector Vasquez, Jr., Gina Marie Reyes, Katrina Florez, Edward and Steven Pineda; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Bernardito Getigan officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
