On 11/10/2017, I received a message from Marsha Benya:
I see that you had a photo request for Joseph Humphries. He is not buried at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, In Heathsville His will stated he lived in St. Stephens Parish. At that Time St Stephens Parish referred a Church that stood near Lottsburg VA, There is only one Headstone that is still visible. And that was the headstone for the last Minister Rev. Duncan McNaughton he Was the minister there from 1805 to his death in 1809 Rev. The church is no longer standing and the new church was built in Heathsville in 1881.
This would indicate that Joseph Humpheries would most likely be buried at the old church location, Or in a home cemetery.
I know that there are some headstone still in the woods, but the majority of them were destroyed when the land was cleared for farming. People in the area have said that they have found lots of headstone pieces in the adjoining field.
