Michael Herbert Rudolf Knatchbull, 5th Baron Brabourne of Brabourne was the son of Cecil Marcus Knatchbull-Hugessen, 4th Baron Brabourne of Brabourne and Helena Regina Frederica von Flesch Brunningen.
He married Lady Doreen Geraldine Browne, daughter of George Ulick Browne, 6th Marquess of Sligo and Agatha Stewart Hodgson, on 22 January 1919.
He died aged 43.
He was baptised with the name of Michael Herbert Rudolf Knatchbull-Hugessen.
