Funeral services for Commodore Perry Kendell, 84, of Cherokee, Oklahoma will be at Grapes Funeral Home and burial will be in Cherokee Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Kendell married Carrie May Handley, and they had five daughters, Burnice, Gladys, Cletice, Bessie and Ruby. He worked in the oil fields in north-west Oklahoma and south-west Kansas, then farmed and ranched. He was in the "now" Hinton, Oklahoma area in 1902 helping stake out this new town, and hauling lumber into the area to build the new town.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Carrie May Kendell.
