Sister Teresa Koebel, SSND (formerly known as Sister M. Ancilla) died at Notre Dame Convent, Waterdown, Ontario, on February 2, 2006, in her 70th year as a School Sister of Notre Dame. Sister was predeceased by her parents William and Teresa (Dietrich), her brothers Sylvester, Leander, and William; and her sisters Caroline, Eleanor, Irene, and Olive. She is lovingly remembered by her Sisters in community, her brother, Seraphim, and relatives.

Sister Teresa graduated from Hamilton Teachers' College in 1937. For many years she attended the annual luncheon of this graduation class. Sister Teresa taught primary classes at St. Joseph and St. John schools in Kitchener, Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Agnes in Waterloo, St. Mary's, St. Gregory and St. Ambrose in Cambridge, Notre Dame and St. Kevin in Welland, Sacred Heart, Walkerton, and Our Lady of Grace, Aurora.
