Eileen L. Cochran, 77, of Newton died Saturday, April 27, 1991 at 9:05 a.m. at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 1, at 2 p.m. at Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton with Larry Matson officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening 5-7 p.m.

Mrs. Cochran was born July 20, 1913 in Jasper County, the daughter of James and Lilly (Trainor) Benefiel. She married Louie Cochran and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Cochran was employed at E. R. Moore Company in Newton, as well as being a cook at the Moose Lodge and American Legion. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, Women of the Moose, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Cochran is survived by one sister, Marie Smithenry of Newton and one niece, Coralee J. Hahn of Olney.

Mrs. Cochran was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers and three sisters.
