CASAR Mr. Talmadge Lee Brackett, 73, of 6221 Casar Road, died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.

He was born March 9, 1931 in Cleveland County. He was an electronic technician and retired from the N.C. Department of Transportation. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Landrum and Hettie Mae Queen Brackett; a brother, Bill Brackett; a sister, Lula Mae McNeilly; and a brother-in-law, Paul McNeilly.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Hoyle Brackett; a son and daughter-in-law, Talmadge Buddy Brackett II and Jennifer of Casar; a brother and his wife, Rev. Garland and Anita Brackett of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; a brother and his wife, Cecil and Ruth Brackett of Casar; a brother and his wife Phillip and Mildred Brackett, of Casar; a sister, Margie Price of Casar; and two grandchildren, Brooke and Rocky Brackett.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Casar United Methodist Church with the Revs. Cecil Buff and Larry Thompson officiating. A burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at the church an hour before the service.
