Oscar Banks who had been confined
to the wheel chair for the past
fourteen years and to the bed five
weeks, passed away December 11, at
his home in Taylor, where he and
Mrs. Banks moved November 26th,
having sold their farm in Otselic.
Mr. Banks was one of five childr
en of Joseph and Lucy Banks, was
born in Jasper, February 7, 1879. He
was married to Lottie Chappel, at
South Canisteo, April 3, 1897, who
survives and has faithfully cared for
him through the years, he is also
survived by eight children, the oldest
son, Albert, passed away at the age
of five; a sister, Mrs. Millie Rainer
of Auburn and several grandchildren.
The funeral was held from his late
home, Sunday, December 14th. The
Rev. Mr. Crawford of South Otselic
officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Russell
Smith of DeRuyter, having charge of
the burial.
