Member of Company K - 24th Tennessee Infantry Regiment (CSA). Rank not given. Probably killed at the battle of Hoover's Gap, Tennessee, during the Tullahoma Campaign of 1863. Body reinterred here shortly after the war ended by local Confederate veterans. NOTE: This cemetery is beautifully maintained by the Benjamin Franklin Cheatham Camp, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Manchester (Coffee County), Tennessee. It is located on a knoll just off I-24 at the Beech Grove exit (mile marker 97). There are also about 50 unknown Confederate soldiers interred here who were engaged in the fighting in the Hoover's Gap and Beech Grove engagements. I would consider this a "must see" for anyone passing through this area.
