Johan Peder Paulson , 86, of Owatonna, died Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Owatonna Care Center.
He was born September 16, 1924 in Owatonna the son of William and Ovidia (Seljeseth) Paulson. He served in the US Army during WW II in Germany. Johan married Virginia Pachl August 5, 1945 at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church. The couple farmed together until 1969 when they moved from their farm to Owatonna. Johan then worked for AMPI and later for Central Coop.
He was a member of Pontoppidan Lutheran Church, Sons of Norway, the American Legion and a life member of the VFW. Johan was a fun and caring person. His jokes brought many smiles to his family and friends and his family was always the priority in his life.
Johan is survived by his wife, Virginia Paulson of Owatonna; daughters, Judy (and Gene) Fisher of Owatonna, Linda (and Roger) Soukup of Owatonna, Patricia (and Tony) Klotz of Auburn, CA; grandchildren, Kelly (and Jeff) Ratzloff, Melissa (and Todd) Paquette, Tricia (and Eric) Fisher, Jason Young, Amy (and Nathan) Richter, Adam Perron; 20 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday from 4pm to 7pm and at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 10am to 11am. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 11am at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church with The Reverend Josh Ehrler officiating. Interment will be in the Pontoppidan Lutheran Cemetery with military honors provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit.
