Mr. Jerry Holcomb of Cooper passed away Sunday morning in Paris. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Cooper. Rev. Johnny Witherspoon and Rev. Mike Fortenberry will officiate with interment following in Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Delta Funeral Home.
Mr. Holcomb was born May 27,1936. He was the son of Chester and Erah Holcomb. He had retired after serving 50 years with the Delta Bank of Cooper. Jerry had served in the National Guard and was past Master of Delta Lodge 1240 Cooper Masonic Lodge. He was a dedicated member of The First Baptist Church since 1960 and had served as deacon since 1962. He will always be remembered as a loving & supportive husband and father with an infectous laugh and was known for his trademark burr haircut.
survivors are his wife of over 50 years, Betty (Beard) Holcomb of Cooper, Son Jason Holcomb and his wife Tami of Lexington, Daughter Janay Wood and her husband Randy of Cooper.Sister Jody George of Cooper. Six Grandchildren: Alicia Perdomo & husband Maurice of Wylie,Rand Wood and wife Diana of Rockwall, Chelsea Williams and husband Dewaylon of Cooper, Will, Nate and Trey Holcomb of Lexington. The great Grandchildren are Bentley Thompson,Jake Perdomo and Hendrix Williams. Jerry was preceded in death by a brother, James Holcomb and a sister Catherine Crumbley. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00.
