sex, and is said to have fought beside her husband through the civil war died today. The war call found the couple on
their honeymoon. The husband, Martin Niles, joined the Fourth New Jersey infantry, and when the regiment
left Elizabeth Niles marched beside him. She fought through many engagements, it is said, and was mustered out, her sex undiscovered. The husband died several years after the war.
