Obituary, 1915
Hannah Lodge was born on Feb 1, 1847 in Plymouth Ill. to her parents Arthur & Hannah Lodge. Her mother died when she was 4 weeks old. The hearts and home of Wright and Lorenda Weaver who adopted her was opened to her at the age of 4 years, where she grew up a loved and loving daughter bearing the name of Hannah Weaver until Oct 29, 1866, when she became the beloved wife of Lafayette Dudley. To this union were Four sons, Fred, Lorenzo, Charles and Stanley survive and live near. One infant son and the only daughter preceded her to the better land. At the age of 17 years, she became a member of the Friends church at Alum Creek, when the M.E. Church was organized at Pagetown she transferred her membership to this church and by her zeal in the Sunday school and faithfulness in her attendance and support of the church was a valued member. Later transferred her membership to the M. E. Church in Marengo where as long as her health permitted she faithfully attended. She passed away very suddenly on Dec. 31st, at the age of 68 yrs, 10 mo,30 days. She leaves to mourn her demise and aged husband, 4 sons and 13 grandchildren, 3 half sisters, 5 half brother, nieces and nephews and a host of friends, who will indeed miss her. Her home was always a pleasant place to com to. Her heart was always open to the cry of the distress, her hand was always ready to minister to the sick and need. "To know her was to love her"
