A funeral for Ruth Olivia Chilson will be at 1pm Tuesday in Portsmouth Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Chilson died of causes related to age Thursday in a King City Care center. She was 100.
Mrs. Chilson was born on Oct 18, 1892 in Blunt, S.D. Her maiden name was Stedman. As a child, she moved with her family to North Dakota where she attended school.
In 1910, she married Edward Chilson in North Dakota. He died in 1956.
She moved to Portland in 1941 and four years ago to Tigard.
A homemaker, Mrs. Chilson was a member of the Portsmouth Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Chilson is survived by daughters, Mildred Queen of Tigard and Mary Jane Sundt of Tigard; sons, Edward of Washington, Guy of Florida, Hollis of Colorado, and Richard of Portland; 22 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Private entombment will be in Portland Memorial Mausoleum.
The family suggests remembrances be contributions to Portsmouth Trinity Lutheran Church.
