Brazil Times, Sunday January 2, 2011 > Don Allsup, 76, Staunton, passed away January, 1, 2011, at home, unexpectedly. He was born August 23, 1934, in Vigo County, to James and Thelma (Bridget) Allsup. He attended Concannon High School in West Terre Haute. Don joined the United States Army in 1957 and was honorably discharged in 1958. Don worked at Lockheed and Webbers Air Craft and Zero's Manufacturing in California as a machinist. In 1963 he moved back to Indiana and began working at Stewart Warner Manufacturing and later Allison's Transmission. He married Anna Kieffer in 1977. Don worked as a tool and die maker at Dee Dee Tool and Dye, Terre Haute, for several years, retiring in 1996. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Anna, brothers, Jimmy Allsup, Larry Allsup and Bill "Duck" Allsup. Survivors include his children, Jack Allsup (Toni), Steve Allsup (Lisa), Debbie Kemp (Neil), David Branning; grandchildren, Jason, Lenny, Jeremy, Philip, Alex, Cassandra and Kodi; great grandchildren, Shane, Jetta, Steven, Austin; brothers, Ralph Allsup, Bobby Allsup; sisters, Macie Audrey, Emma, Jeri and Linda; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Services for Don will be at French Funeral Home, Saturday, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Richard Pippin officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home, Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
