Michael Ross Ward passed away Thursday, February 24, 2011, at Via Christi St. Frances Hospital, Wichita Kansas, at the age of 22. He was born May 10, 1988, in Hays, Kansas, to Allen and Susan (Bauer) Ward.

Michael grew up with his sister in Norton. He attended school in Norton, graduating in 2007. Michael earned a degree in Engineering Tech from Northwest Kansas Technical College in Goodland , Kansas.

After college, Michael returned to Norton and worked for Garrett's Plumbing and Heating. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and music and was a member of Pheasants Forever. Michael attended the Community Full Gospel Church in Norton from birth through most of his school years and had been involved with Teens for Christ.

Michael was a joy to be around and was always willing to help others. Everyone who got the chance to meet him liked Michael right away.

Survivors include his parents, Allen and Susan Ward, Norton, KS; girlfriend, Cassie Walker, Norton, KS; sister, Sarah Johnson, Norton, KS; paternal grandfather and his wife, Gwynn & Judy Ward, Loveland, CO; maternal grandmother, Amy Bauer, Larned, KS; two nephews, Dominic and Jiah Johnson, Norton, KS; other relatives and many friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Mary Ward, and maternal grandfather, Harold Bauer.
