John William Lucas, 55 of 1014 west Stogsdill road died Satuday evening at the Bloomington Hospital folling a sudden illness. Born December 26, 1929 in monroe county, he was the son of John Mark Lucas and Sarah Jones Lucas.He was a Ready Mix truck driver for Ralph Rogers Group.He attended Whitehall Welan Methodist Church,A U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict,he was a member of the Teamsters Local Union 135, The monroe County Saddle Club and a former member of the Company 1 Champion Drill Team. Survivors include his wife Naomi Stogsdill Lucas, four sisters,Frances Wampler, Betty Mae, Linda Beldon, and Annice Grubbs,all of Bloomington, Indiana.Three brothers, Lee Lucas of Snowflake, Arizona,James and Lester Lucas of Martinsville. Several Nieces and nephews.He was preceeded in death by his parents and one sister , Barbara Carter. Services will be at 2 PM Tuesday at the Allen Funeral Home in Bloomington, with Rev. Arthur Miller and Don Compbell officating. Burial will be at the Gross Cemetery in Owen County
