Mrs. Julia Grinstead Died Friday A.M. After Long Illness
Mrs. Julia Gay Grinstead,85,of Reidsville, died early Friday morning at Jelks Hospital after a long illness.
A native of Laurens county, she was the widow of L.A. Grinstead.
Survivors are three sons, E.L. Grinstead, Reidsville, Loye L. Grinstead, Eustus, Fla., Don R. Grinstead, Darien; four daughters, Mrs. W.J. Holton, Collins, Mrs. George Phillips, Dunedin, Fla., Mrs. Everett Marden, Campton, N.H., Mrs. Elton Thompson, Uvalda; a brother, M.L. Gay, Dublin; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 2:30 p.m. from the Reidsville Methodist Church by the Rev. Claude Haugabook. Burial was in the Reidsville cemetery. Active pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased, W.T. Holton, Harold Holton, Herbert Holton, Larry Grinstead, Andy Grinstead and Charles Thompson. Honorary pallbearers were the officials of the official board of stewards of the Reidsville Methodist Church.
McCall-Trapnell Funeral Home of Reidsville was in charge.
