Jack is survived by his wife of 62 years, Violet (Morrison) Neal of Millinocket; one daughter, Joan, and her husband, Raymond Soulard, of Contoocook, New Hampshire; one son, John, and his wife, Betsey Neal, of Millinocket; one sister, Margaret, and her husband, Larry Therisault, of Elkton, Florida; grandchildren, Heather Pray of Portland, Michelle Pray of Stoneham, Massachusetts, Jonathan and Katie Neal, both of Millinocket. He was predeceased by two brothers, Ernest and William Neal.
Jack was a corporal in the Army Air Corps, serving from 1943 to 1946. He then worked as a surgical technician, stationed in Coral Gables, Florida. He was employed by Great Northern Paper Company as a foreman of the Wood Department of the Millinocket and East Millinocket mills, retiring in 1973. Jack also worked selling cars at a local dealership for eight years.
He was an avid fisherman and, for many years, an avid basketball fan.
Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack Street, in Millinocket. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2003, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Lance Almeida officiating.
Burial will be in Millinocket Cemetery. If friends wish, donations in Jack's memory may be made to the Katahdin Area Support Group, 10 Field Street, Millinocket, ME 04462; or to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund.
