Donald W. Jones, a retired truck driver for Nu-Car Carriers and Cloverleaf Transport, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 in the Town of Fallsburg. He was 83.

The son of the late Richard Jones and Rosa May Wood Jones, he was born September 3, 1926 in Spring Valley. He was the widower of Charlotte E. Jones, who predeceased him on November 26, 2003.

A veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, he was also a member of the National Rifle Association. Donald's life revolved around his family.

He is survived by two sons, William R. Jones and his wife, Sandra of Wurtsboro, and Donald R. Jones and his wife, Jean of Grand Prairie, TX; six grandchildren: Christina, Amy, Jamie, Donald M., Crystal and Shawn; four great-grandchildren: Camdalyn, Deanna Nicole, Richard and Lillian; a sister, Dorothy MacEwan of Thorndike, ME; many nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 3, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Meyer officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at the Sylvan Cemetery in Wurtsboro.
