She was educated at schools in Ottosen and graduated from Estherville High School and taught in several area country schools.
She married Earl Francis Kilbourn in 1920 in Storm Lake IA. They farmed in the Rolfe area and in 1954 purchased a farm with their son Melvin in Ostrander MN.
After her husband's death in 1961 she stayed on the farm until 1967 when she moved to Pocahontas.
She is survived by daughters Mildred (Raymond) Banwart Lombard IL, Yvonne (Lewis) Corn Coronado CA, Mardell (Don) McVinua Storm Lake IA, sons Melvin (Loura) Kilbourn Ostrander MN, Dwayne Kilbourn South Gate CA 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Sister Lylus (Joe) Wilson Pocahontas IA
