Mrs. Carpenter was born in Milam County. She married A. Y. Carpenter in January 1914. He died in 1947.
Mrs. Carpenter worked as a seamstress for Clifton Manufacturing Co. during World War II. She was a member of First Baptist Church of China Spring.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Saffle of Waco and Mrs. R. D. Gilliam of China Spring; two sons, Coke Carpenter and Addis Carpenter, both of China Spring; a brother, Wiley J. Andrews of Temple; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
