She was born on Oct. 11, 1943, in Gloversville, a daughter of George and Beatrice Hayes Wilmer.
Linda lived in Syracuse and Fort Plain in her early years, and came to Canastota in 1974.
She had worked as an administrative assistant at Rosewood Heights Healthcare in Syracuse.
Linda enjoyed Bible study and computer games. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Canastota.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Maureen (Farrell) and Chris Birmingham of Camden; two sons, John E. Farrell of Canastota, and Martin J. Farrell of Houston, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Craig Ehle of Ocala, Fla.; three grandchildren, Christopher and Daniel Birmingham of Camden, and Joseph Farrell of Mobile, Ala., as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Friday (tomorrow), Feb. 25, 2011, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., Canastota. The Rev. Tom Rainwater, pastor of the Church of Christ of Canastota will officiate. Spring burial will be held at Fort Plain Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4-7 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home, 201 James St., Canastota.
