Sarah Ann "Sallie" Jones, was the daughter of Willis D. Jones, (1810-after 1870) and Tabitha A.Shirley (1831-after 1870). Sarah's father was born in South Carolina and her mother was born in Georgia. She had 5 siblings: William, Lewis, Andrew, Matthew, and a sister with initials LAE. Sarah's was living in Hopewell, Anderson County, South Carolina, with her parents and siblings at the time of the 1860 & 1870 census. She was married to Louis D. Chamblee in 1874 in Belton, Anderson, South Carolina. They were living in Dekalb County AL at the time of the 1880 census. In 1900, Sarah, her brother Louis, and her brother Matthew are all living in Whiton, Dekalb County, AL. In 1900, Matthew was living with Sarah and her family. Andrew is also living in Dekalb County, AL in 1900, in Collinsville. Sarah A., Lewis M., Matthew and Andrew J., spent the rest of their lives in Dekalb, Marshall and Jackson Counties in AL and are buried there. Louis' death certificate lists Willis Jones and Tabitha Shirley as his parents. Sarah and her brother Louis Jones are both buried in the Hopewell Cemetery.
