Funeral services for Jeremy Ray Shields will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Okemah. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Okemah.
Jeremy Ray Shields was born September 16, 2009 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Chance Eugene Shields and Ashley Rene (Mitchell) Shields. He passed away Friday, February 18, 2011 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Jeremy enjoyed riding horses and his Gator and really enjoyed driving anything. He was a very happy child and a tough little boy. He never cried even after getting a shot!
Survivors include his parents, Chance and Ashley Shields of Okemah; his paternal grandparents, Gene and Kathy Shields of Okemah and Barbara Atwell of Sapulpa; paternal great- grandmother, Viola Shields of Okemah; maternal grandparents, Dove and Tracy Adams of Purcell and Obie Mitchell of Valley, Alabama; maternal great-grandmothers, Phyllis Barrington of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Jean Adams of Purcell and Mona Mitchell also of Blanchard; numerous aunts and uncles including, Billy and Kelly Shields, Jack and Leslie Brewster, Timmy and Shirley Shields, Chance Adams, Samantha Adams, Pablo Hernandez, BreeAnna Mitchell, Obie Mitchell Jr., Brittany Kimberly, Jonathan Malaesta and Raymond Malaesta. Jeremy is also survived by many cousins.
Serving as active pallbearers will be: Chance Adams, Pablo Hernandez, and Billy and Timmy Shields
Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Brewster, Trent Harelson, and Steven Smith.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah and officiated by Pastor Joel Downing.
