George Clifton Fortner, 77 of 1317 DeLesseps Ave., died yesterday at his home after a long illness.
A native of Johnson County, he was a retired farmer. He is a member of Gunlog Primitive Baptist Church of Kite.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lallah Stanley Fortner; five sons, Kelley W. Fortner of Pooler, E. L. Fortner of Garden City, W. R. Fortner, D. C. Fortner and Leon E. Fortner of Savannah; three daughters, Mrs. G. T. McGaity of Marietta, Mrs. J. C. Flanders and Mrs. James Lowe of Savannah; a sister Mrs. J. L. Anderson of Pooler; 28 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren
Fox and Weeks Funeral Home is in charge.
