Professional Football Player. For three seasons (1999 to 2001), he played at the center and guard positions in the National Football League with the Dallas Cowboys. He played collegiate football at the University of Houston, where he received first-team consensus All-Conference honors in 1996 and first-team All-American status by multiple media outlets in 1997, while being a four-time letterman. Selected by the New York Giants during the 7th round of the 1998 NFL Draft, Fricke began his professional career with the Amsterdam Admirals of the NFL Europe League before joining the Cowboys in 1999; he appeared in 16 career NFL games. Following his playing career, Fricke attained his BS from the University of Houston and received his MBA from Southern Methodist University three years later. He coached high school football and taught business education. He died from colon cancer.
