Arliss Mae Speer Kauffman of Port Orchard, died on January 5, 2010 at the age of 76. She was born in Little Oak, South Dakota on February 28 1933 to Lee and Ruby Speer. She was one of 10 children. She graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1951.

She was an active member of the Colby United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #30. She was an avid Seattle Mariners fan and enjoyed family, friends, volunteer work, baking, canning, gardening (especially her roses), her backyard "bird sanctuary," puzzles, sewing and her daily walks.

She is survived by sons Harold Kauffman, Howard (and wife Sharon) Kauffman; daughters Laurine (and husband Gary) Burrer and Laura Angove, all of Port Orchard; 8 grandchildren; Greg (and wife Shelby) Linne, Jeff (and wife Melissa) Linne, Tim (and wife Natasha) Linne, Jessica (and husband Phil) Moncrief, Jodi (and husband Adam) Lovern, Ryan, Aaron and Jordan Angove, and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lee, mother, Ruby, sisters Rose Marie Speer and Colleen (Esther) Strittmatter (Chaplin) and brother Leland Speer.

A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on January 16th at 12 p.m. at Colby United Methodist Church, 2881 Harvey St. SE, Port Orchard, WA 98366.(http://www.gbgm-umc.org/colbyumc /).
