Services were held Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church of Megargel for John Henry Simek, 66, who died in a Temple hospital last Friday. Rosary was read Sunday at 8 p.m. in Lunn Chapel in Olney.
Born July 4, 1903 in Shiner to Mr. and Mrs. John Simek, he was married on September 21, 1927 in Megargel to Lillianb Brom.
Simek, a retired farmer, had lived in and around Megargel since 1921. He was a member of the Catholic Church, a member of th K of C and KJT Lodges, was a Democratic County Chairman for 17 hears and was a secretary of K of C and KJT.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Matus of Megargel; six grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Simek of Lubbock; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Motl of Bomarton, Mrs. Jannie Cepica of Megargel and Mrs. Martha Clifton of Fort Worth.
