Maxine N. Gist, age 70, of Centerville died Saturday, February 15, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville. She was born August 9, 1932 in the Rose Community near Casa to the late Earnest Aimer and Cordy Jones Raney. She was a retired nurse and a homemaker and mother. Survivors are her husband of 52 years, Harvey Gist; two sons and spouses, Evert and Elke Gist and Dennis and Brenda Gist, all of Centerville; two brothers, Ervan Raney of Ola, Glen Raney of Knoxville; three sisters, Imogean West of London, Charlene Scoles of Centerville and May Campbell of Alma; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, several nephews and nieces. Services were Tuesday, February 18, 2003 at the Mt. George Church of Christ with Brother Chris George and Brother Steve Sorrells officiating. Interment was in Petillo Hill Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle. Pallbearers were Mark Raney, David Raney, Billy Noblet, Danny McKnight, Jerry Reynolds, Norman Boothe, Jr. Fowler, Carlos Boothe and Joe West. Honorary were grandsons, Aaron Davis, Mikia Moulder, Keven Diamond, Heath Diamond, Josh Gist, Tim Gist, Frank Terry.
